R-Kids Pray&Fast Team
The number of kids joining our Realife Church family is growing and FAST, praise the Lord! A church filled with Jesus and children is filled with LIFE! As we grow, we want to be sure we are able to continue to minister the love of Jesus to each child, personally. Truthfully, this is becoming harder and harder to do as our classroom sizes increase, for a few reasons:
1. The number of students per leader is increasing, which makes it less possible for our leaders to connect personally with each student. Our kids LOVE telling us about their lives and it is out of these conversations that we build relationships and trust so that they are willing to listen to what we teach and are comfortable sharing areas in which they need help and prayer. With more leaders, we can continue to minister in this manner.
2. As the number of students grow, so do the discipline problems. Therefore, leaders have to stop more frequently to address behavior, taking other students' time away from the Word. With more leaders, we can dedicate certain adults to managing behavioral issues without disrupting the rest of the class from learning.
3. Our classes have wide age gaps. As class sizes have increased, it has become harder to manage those age gaps. Previously, if we had one or two younger students in a class, it was easier to personally cater to their need for more assistance. Or, if an older student seemed bored, we could more easily recognize this and personally challenge them. Now, we have many more younger students and older students per classroom, making it more and more difficult to meet their personal learning needs. With more leaders, we could ideally split our pre-K group into ages 2-3 and ages 4-5 and our elementary group into grades K-2 and grades 3-5.
4. Several of our current leaders are covering multiple weeks a month — and even then, we are currently short-staffed. With more leaders, our current leaders would receive a much-deserved time of refreshment during Sunday morning worship with other adults.
While we recognize that not everyone is able to serve in Kids Ministry, we also recognize we ALL can be praying and fasting for these needs. Therefore, would you join us once weekly or monthly in praying and fasting for R-Kids and leaders, that the Lord will enable us to healthily keep up with this FAST growth we are experiencing, to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ?
